Wallet, backup and recovery

Where is my wallet?

On your phone. The app creates it the first time you log in, from a 24-word recovery phrase, and keeps it in the phone's secure storage. Your SOL and coins are on the Solana blockchain, at an address only you control.

Can Memelut see my key or my recovery phrase?

No. They never reach Memelut. Our server only gets the public address and a signature proving the wallet is yours.

Is there an automatic backup, for example to iCloud or Google?

Yes. When the wallet is created, the app saves an end-to-end encrypted copy of the recovery phrase in your iCloud Keychain (iPhone) or Google Block Store (Android). It is stored in your Apple or Google account and Memelut cannot read it. Writing the 24 words on paper is a second step you can do later; we recommend doing it soon.

If I lose my phone, do I lose my money?

Not if you still have a backup. On a new phone signed in to the same Apple or Google account, install Memelut, log in and restore the wallet from the cloud backup; or restore it with the 24 words. If you lose your phone, your phrase and access to the cloud backup, nobody can recover your funds, not even Memelut.

I have my phone but I never wrote the phrase down. What now?

Open Security → Recovery phrase (the app asks for Face ID, fingerprint or PIN) and write the 24 words on paper, in order.

Where should I keep the phrase?

On paper, somewhere safe. No photos, screenshots, phone notes, email or chat. Anyone with the phrase can take everything.

Someone is asking for my recovery phrase.

It's a scam. Memelut will never ask for it: not in chat, not by email, not on the phone.

Can I use the wallet in another app?

Yes: it is a standard Solana wallet. You can import the phrase into a compatible app. Phantom and Backpack also show the "compressed" tokens Memelut uses; other apps may not.

Can Memelut freeze or move my funds?

Not the funds in your wallet: every operation needs your signature. We can pause app features (for example during a security check). The SOL you put into a fundraise and Gift Bank tokens, on the other hand, are held by Memelut until launch or delivery.

I had a wallet from the previous version (Privy).

Its funds are moved to your new wallet. The app tells you if you need to do anything.

I had a "trading balance" in the previous version.

It is moved to your wallet once your wallet on the phone is confirmed in V2. Contributions to open fundraises stay in those fundraises. If you come back after more than 12 months, your balance is not lost: write to support@memelut.com to claim it.

I changed phone and created a new wallet by mistake.

You can replace the wallet linked to your account. If you can sign with the old wallet, the change is immediate. If you cannot, the change takes effect after a 72-hour wait: we tell you by email, you can cancel it from any of your sessions, and payments from Memelut to you stay on hold until it is complete. Funds in the old wallet can only be reached with its recovery phrase or its backup.

Why do I need SOL?

Every Solana operation pays a small network fee in SOL, usually under a cent. Fundraise contributions are in SOL too. In some cases (a sale, a send) Memelut advances or covers the network fee if you have no SOL.

What are "compressed" tokens?

The same coin, recorded on the blockchain in a cheaper way (Light Protocol's ZK compression). In the app they look like any other coin.

Hearts and fees

How much does the heart buy?

The amount you chose, usually about $0.20; the minimum is $0.10. You can change it in Settings.

What does it cost?

On coins launched with V2: 1.625% inside the price (1% Memelut, 0.3% creator, 0.325% Meteora), plus the network fee. Details and examples: Fees.

Does commenting cost anything?

A comment comes with a buy, with the same fees. Liking a comment is free.

The heart is locked on a "launching" coin.

The fundraise has reached $10 and the coin is launching. Try again shortly.

Fundraises

What is a coin "In raccolta" (fundraising)?

A coin that has not launched yet. The heart sends SOL to a fundraise held by Memelut; at $10 the coin launches and the tokens arrive in your wallet. Full rules: Fundraises.

Can I get my money back before launch?

Yes: sell back your share at the curve price minus 1%.

What if the coin never launches?

For fundraises started in V2: automatic refund after 90 days. For older ones: no automatic refund, but you can sell back whenever you want.

Gift Banks

How do I get a gift?

Watch the video of a coin with an open Gift Bank. You need a verified email, an account at least 24 hours old and at least one heart in the last 30 days. If you are among the first, the gift arrives in your wallet automatically. Rules: Gift Banks.

Sends

Can I send to a phone number?

Yes, if that person is on Memelut. Sends to people who are not on Memelut are paused.

I sent to the wrong address.

Solana transactions are final: nobody can reverse them, not even Memelut.

Account

How do I delete my account?

From your profile settings. First make sure you have your recovery phrase: the wallet stays yours and deleting the account does not touch it. If you have open contributions or tokens being delivered, deletion may be postponed. What is on the blockchain cannot be deleted.

Is Memelut available in my country?

Not where the law does not allow it, and not for people under sanctions. The list of excluded countries and regions is in point 2 of the Terms of Use.

Does Memelut tell me what to buy?

No. Nothing in the app is investment advice. The coins are digital collectibles, not investments.

How do I contact Memelut?

Write to support@memelut.com.
